Story

Chhote Sarkar is a 1938 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1938. The film is directed by Homi Master, produced by Sunder M.
Sansar the every day monosyllabic expression-according to the philophy of the theologinas, rotates on the axle of destiny destined to eternity. The religious gosplets, the Sermons of the preachers and the brains of the philosophers attribute this rotation to the channels of phenomenal forces or shaktis which feed this universal revoulation. On this stage of the universe the individuals appear in their turn and time and contubute their and fade out into infinty. . The man-the rational being-Almightys greatest creation operates individ ually under the space of this vast ethereal firmament according to his own thought, instigation and tendency of mind. The writings in the holy scripts are the same, the source of teachings does not alter or falter but it is the individual brain who thinks his own way. . There are two students of Dharma fed by the same saintly scripts but it is the individual sentiment which strms within ones mind to put him on his devilish revolutionary errands while the other still remains an asset to humanity. . Our story is based on the war between the good and evil forces. The screen discloses the two forces in the guise of Dharma Dass and Kam Nath, two believers of the same school of theology, the former is devoted to the services of humanity and uplift of the low-born and the latter exerts his spiritual powers in his own lustful and sensuous pursuits. . Lukshmi Kant and Krishen Kuamr are the two sons of Hari Dass, a well to do Seth who is enjoying the balm of a happy home. The only anxiety is the sick bed of his wife Yashoda who is wasting away through her paining conscience for a false step thaken by her in her youth. Kam Nath through his hypnitic powers sways a great influence over Lakshmi Kant and through his intrigues Hari Dass does not like his younger son Chhote Sirkar. . In the luxurius inner chambers of the temple of Kam Nath some heart re rending shrieks perturb the attention of the people who are listening to his sermons. It is Kamala, a widow of the locality who is already a victim to Kam Nath. . Krishna Kumar is the member of a purity League-a young man with a pious thought and a tender herart and through these virtues of his is called CHHOTE SIRKAR. . One day a sweeper girl is found knocked down by a motor, leaving her infant son on the road. Krishen Kumar arrives at eh scene, and finding the sweeper girl writhing helplessly in dust attends and affectionately helps her to hospital. He takes the child in his custody but on his way home his motor fails and the child is desperately restless. . Rajni, a glowing damsel the only daughter of arenowned solicitor is strolling about in her car. She is stopped by Krishen Kumar who requests her for help-she refuses-the untouchable must be cared for-he forces and takes her car away. . Rajni, at this beautiful and a bold outrage of Krishen Kumar looks gaping and stunned while the car rumbles away. She resorts to a police station where she lacks the powers of describing her robber who had electrocuted her at eh first sight. Soon after Krishen Kumar reaches the same police station to return the car. . Cupid had already darted his arrows in both hearts-they love each othe . One dark night, while the creation is slumbering and the devil is awake Kamla the widow delivers a child of Lakshmi Kant. Kam Nath advises her to hush up the scandal by embedding the new born in a stream nearby. Lakshmi Kant takes her in his car-the deed is done-the eye of law-a police officer witnesses the scene. Lakshmi Knat hurries home and tells Krishen Kumar to put the car in garage, who obeys but is taken into custody by the police officer who has beeb following the car, and the court gives him two years behind the bers. . This act of Krishen Kumar enrages Hari Dass his father, comples Rajni to sever her connections with him and strikes a thunderbolt on the incapacitated Yashoda who dies of the shock. . Dying she leaves a confidential letter in the hands of her daughter-in -law Sushila, the nimble hearted wife of Lakshmi Kant. This letter is to be delivered to Hari Dass after Yashodas Death. . Krishen Kumar returns from jail but Hari Dass is displeased at his misbehaviour and after askirmish Krishen Kumar leaves the house for good. . The fateful letter falls into the hands of Lakshmi Kant but an invisible hand snatches it away from him and ultimately is bought back by Lakshmi Kant for an enormous amount of money, who reads the contents and proceeds to burn it, but a gust of wind carries it to the hands of his father Hati Dass, who after reading is shaken to the spine and endeavours to reconcile with Chhote Sirkar. . Lakshmi Kant informs Kam Nath whose evil with again come to play. He hypnotises Sushila to murder Hari Dass but her feeble hands fail to commite the crime. . But Hari Dass is butchered in a pool of cold blood. The murderer has absconded and as fate may have it, Krishen Kumar enters the house only to be arrested by the police. . Rajni feels the pangs of love again but to protect her social position is held back. . The rising popularity of Dharma Dass incokes a jealousy in the mind of Kam Nath. A war between the good and the evil of Kam Nath and Lakshmi Kant reach a climax. The murder can not be hushed up-guilty conscience can not rest easy. A tempest broils in his inner soul-he yearns for PRAISCHIT-atonement of his sins, and seeks the help of Dharam Dass who prays for him. The devil in Kam Nath has blinded the eyes of his soul- he is devoid of the Darshana of Lord Krishna. . He confesses-a tale of woe and bereavement-a horrible phantas-magoria haunts him and the atrocities of Kam Nath end in a tragedy of tragedies unheard of by human ears.
