CHILLAR PARTY depicts the courage with which they (children) stand up against their parents and also a powerful politician to fight for a just cause. The cause is most noble and if you're a dog lover [like me], you'd simply want to be one with the kids in this agitation and fight the unscrupulous politician tooth and nail. And that's precisely why CHILLAR PARTY works. It evokes the right feelings. It knocks on your conscience.

The reason Chillar Party connects with you instantly is because it is honest and has its heart in the right place. The child actors are neither sugary sweet nor cacophonously cranky. They are pleasantly natural and absolutely believable. The chemistry and charm of the society kids bring back memories of Mani Ratnam's Anjali (1990). Every kid in Chillar Party has an interesting characterization that gives them a unique identity.

Earlier, all kids could claim their own were the stray films from the government-aided CFSI, and though many of their projects were delightful, their ultra-low budget productions were riddled with inconsistencies and a lack of wide release meant that they just weren't watched by enough people. But with some of India's biggest stars and production houses backing the genre, much lost ground has been recovered in the last half-decade.

Once in a while comes a film that is made with a lot of heart and touches you with its sheer innocence. And CHILLAR PARTY is one such film. CHILLAR PARTY is an honest and heartfelt film which makes you laugh, cry, clap and more importantly, think. Ekdum faadu hai boss!

Wonder how restless kids will watch Chillar Party? Filmmakers need to realize Indian tweens are extremely smart and fed on a regular diet of Cartoon Network and roller-coaster Hollywood kiddie’s flicks. You got to have a story, adventure drama and pace. Or else….

On the whole, CHILLAR PARTY is not just for kids, but for grownups as well. A story of grit and determination, it works not just as an entertainer, but also advocates a message rather strongly. A film that deserves to be tax-exempted so that it reaches out to a wider audience. A small film with a gigantic spirit… Encourage this one!

Chillar Party is a small film with a big heart and a huge spirit. A rare Bollywood film without foreign locales, big stars or a heaving item girl, Chillar Party has the power to suck you in quickly and the pluck to grow on you. At the heart of Chillar Party is a gang of feisty knee-high kids, the most delightful ensemble cast seen in a Bollywood film in a long time. All residents of a middle-class residential complex in Mumbai, each in the gang of eight has a nickname distinguished

Chillar Party may not be free of the obligatory good versus evil theme which persistently makes its way into this genre (at least in Bollywood) yet it aims at generating laughter, without punching you in the gut. The film has a few really fun moments, especially when a chance remark such as 'Toh chadddi mein ghoomu kya' invokes a 'chaddi march' with a few hundred kids. Or the shameless way they manipulate their parents sans any qualms. Chillar Party is an enjoyable film with plenty of laughs. Do watch this, unless of course you hate kids.

A bunch of kids and a dog, fighting against injustice meted out to their lesser-privileged friend. Is your heart already melting? Then Chillar Party is definitely for you. A simple film, too naive at times, about the kids of middle-class families, which live in Chandan Nagar Society. Into their society walks Phatka, a poor boy with his dog, Bhidu. His job is to clean the cars of the society and he makes an old, abandoned car his home. Kids don't like Phatka

Chillar Party is a must-watch for you. It squeezes in a quiet message even as it portrays the world purely from the gawky-eyed point of view of children. The film strikes a perfect balance between the two poles of the script. Well, almost. It moves from the light-hearted to the thought-provoking and from the rib-tickling to the tear-jerking without losing its equilibrium.

Is Chillar Party, then, a perfect children’s film? Saying that would be a bit of a stretch. The characters are less nuanced individuals than recognisable types, etched out and christened on the basis of their defining traits.

The problem with 'Chillar Party' is that it goes about a completely convoluted way to deliver a sweet message. Apart from the fact that the kids here fight for what is right, it also subtly talks about erasing the class divide. Yet where the film could have been warm and cute, the minister angle in the plot botches it up. It also drags on endlessly, so while the children are endearing - especially the terrific Naman Jain who plays Jhangiya - you've run out of patience long before the film is over.

A Mumbai housing society is the scene of the adventures of this 'chillar’ party which starts out as a super fun ride. A little boy called Fatka (Khan) is the new entrant into this solidly middle-class oasis with its well-appointed flats, big cars, and well-meaning parents overseeing children, homework, and pranks. As his name denotes-- no subtle notes here-- Fatka is the fellow who cleans cars, makes do with just the shirt on his back, and no affection from anyone

Despite the cartoony swipes, and the thundering track underlying every scene, ‘Chillar Party’ proves that it is entirely possible to make a smart children’s film, with good production values, with kids seen to be having a blast.

Chillar, for loose change, is a pretty sweet title for a film. It's set around little children. They live together at a housing "society" or "colony" (the term is used interchangeably). They call their group 'chillar party', have a proper headquarter with an old TV set in a garage, fight rival cricket teams in the neighbourhood. Each one is introduced to us separately for how they get their obvious and sometimes far fetched nicknames: 'Akram' is a left-arm fast bowler

What can you say about a film where the first half is spent with a bunch of kids trying to trouble a poor kid and his dog and the entire second half has them trying to save the dog from the infamous dog van. Okay, the kids are occasionally cute and give you some moments here and there to smile. Specially when they begin to adopt the style and the language of the tapori kid and shock their parents completely. But after a point all their meanness and sweetness
