A nightmarish journey, did we say? May be, considering that Robert Downey Jr breaks his arm, gets tazered, cracks his ribs, hurtles down a freeway, has his bags stolen, his wallet swiped, his ID lost, his credibility crumbled (he's a terrorist suspect and put on a no-fly list), his nose punched and is even forced to spend long hours as an illegal immigrant in a Mexican lock-up. And if that's not trouble enough, he has to bear up withRead full review3.5

When an actor really discovers his stride, there's little you can do but hang around for the ride. Robert Downey Jr is a fine leading man, a superhero with immense romantic charm, dry wit and magnificent comedic chops (his Tropic Thunder performance will remain a masterclass) but he barely shows any of this off in his latest film, Due Date. Because in the driver's seat, the possibly sticky driver's seat, sits Zach Galifianakis, a brilliant bearded buffoon worthy of immense celebration.Read full review3.0

Due Date, starring Robert Downey Jr and The Hangover’s Zach Galifianakis is structured as your standard comic road-movie. But it’s the livewire chemistry between the men and the steady stream of dirty jokes that makes it so watchable, despite how familiar the movie feels. Straight-laced architect Peter (played by Robert Downey Jr) has an annoying encounter with chubby nut-case Ethan (played by Zach Galifianakis) while boarding a flightRead full review3.0

Peter Highman (Downey Jr), a prissy architect with a bit of a mean streak, finds himself, through unforeseen circumstances, travelling across America with the stoner man-child Ethan Trembley (Galifianakis). Highman is on a quest to reach his expecting wife Sarah (Monaghan) while the bear-like Trembley, who comes along with a pet bulldog and a can of his father’s ashes, has his hopes set on making it big in Hollywood.Read full review3.0

Due Date is carrying The Hangover, of that surprise hit by director Todd Phillips a year ago. And no one seems to be drunk on that film's success more than Zach Galifianakis, who plays again a well-meaning oddball with hair over more than half of his face and trousers over barely half his bottom. If that was about four friends of whom one may not make it to his wedding -- courtesy all that Las Vegas can throw their way - in Due DateRead full review2.5

Early in Due Date the odd-couple main characters, Peter and Ethan, visit a pot dealer. As Ethan (Zach Galifianakis) checks out the bud, his reluctant companion, Peter (Robert Downey Jr), waits in the living room with the dealer’s two children. Peter has been kicked off a plane and forced into a car with Ethan, and he isn’t happy. He swats away the children’s questions and mocks the girl. Her brother, who looks about nine, bounces a toy off Peter’s head in seeming retaliation.Read full review2.0

Depending on who your fellow passenger is, a roadtrip can either be the stuff memories are made of or a surefire method to suffer a nervous breakdown. Peter Highman (Downey Jr) is trying to get back to his wife, Sarah (Monaghan) in Los Angeles in time to see his baby born. He doesn't know what he has got himself into when he first accidentally switches bags with Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) at the Atlanta airport. He gets into trouble during check-inRead full review
