Jenny gave him his first friendship ever. Jenny gave him his first moment of jealousy. Jenny gave his first gift ever. Jenny gave him his first camera. And thus was born superstar photographer Connor Mead, who gave Jenny her first heart burn ever. And like all previous rich, spoilt brats, Connor too thinks marriage is an archaic, corrupt institution that needs to be abolished ASAP, and casual sex is but no crime at all. Now, haven't we seen all that before!

Celebrity photographer and confirmed Bachelor Connor Mead(McConaughey) is the love-them-leave-them type until he begins to see a few ghosts of his former girlfriends on the eve of his brother Paul's (Breckin Meyer) wedding. The ghosts in the film help Connor rewind to the past to find out why he is what he is. The process of discovery is not very pleasant though - not for those involved and not for those watching either.

A perennial family favourite, A Christmas Carol has been adapted several times over the past years. Besides the fondly remembered 1951 British production, it has also been incarnated as a musical (Scrooge, 1970) and an animated adventure (Christmas Carol-The Movie, 2001). Now, Charles Dickens’ classic tale is re-imagined as a chick flick. Sorry to say, but Ghosts of Girlfriends Past falls disappointingly short of our expectations. Jettisoning the Christmas theme altogether

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past stars Matthew McConaughey as Connor Mead, a celebrity photographer and incorrigible charmer who has only one use for the ladies. When the sex gets repetitive though and it's time to move on to greener pastures, he's the kind of guy who breaks up with three exes on a video conference call because he's too lazy to call it off in person. At his younger brother's wedding, he's a complete disaster

Connor Mead (Matthew McConaughey) is a brash, flirtatious, "I don't believe in love" guy who abhors relationships and commitments. During his stay at his younger brother's (Breckin Meyer) wedding, Connor makes an anti-love speech that has his childhood sweetheart Jenny Perotti (Garner) tugging at her napkin, wanting to believe that it's just a tough guy act. Soon Connor encounters the spirit of his dead uncle Wayne

A smear of petroleum jelly might have done wonders for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, a junky-looking romantic comedy that’s neither remotely romantic nor passably comic. An old trick used to soften facial lines, greasing a lens or filter can diffuse the image and, much like candlelight, bring a touch of glamour to a scene. And if ever a movie needed to have its hard lines eased with some cheap glamour, it’s this one: a crude gloss on Dickens’s Christmas Carol
