Himalay Ki God Mein 1965

Sunil Mehra has successfully completed his medical studies and is now a qualified doctor, who can now practice medicine anywhere in India. He chooses to do so in a small and remote Himalayan village without any doctor or any medical facilities. His doctor fiancee, Neeta, decides to accompany him, but is appalled at the lack of facilities, and leaves. Dr. Mehra must now decide to continue his work there or re-locate.

Dr. Sunil and his friend Dr. Miss Neeta who had recently returned after completing higher studies in medicine, were stranded in a tribal area, for the plane in which they were travelling had to land on a non-scheduled airport due to the sudden sickness of a heart patient who was a passenger. Leaving everybody and a lady doctor in charge of the patient, Dr. sunil moves away to find some help. On his way Dr. Sunil was beaten by the dacoits and left unconscious, found out in this state by tribal girls, gone for gathering honey. He was carried by them to their village and was looked after by Dayal: the chowdhary of the village, and his adopted daughter Phulwa and treated by a quack of the village but the careful nursing of Phulwa, in course of time, cures him. . Dr. Sunil gets disgusted at the condition of the tribal people who could not even have bare medical aid and decides when an opportunity arises, to come and serve humanity in this area. . Phulwa was considering Dayal as her own father while it was Lakhansing his brother, a dacoit on whose head there was a price, was the real father. In the loot Lakansingh had carried away the necklace of Dr. Miss Neeta and brings it as a present to Phulwa and puts on the neck of his sleeping daughter. Dayal drives Lakhansing away and warns him not to visit the village again otherwise he would hand him over to the police. He wanted to return the necklace, but Lakhansing had disappeared. . Recovering from the shock, Dr. Sunil find his way home and joins his father, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, feeling grateful to Phulwa for the care she took him and giving her a harmoinca (a musical instrument) which he priced most and was fond of playing and at the same time requesting Phulwa to visit him any time for any help he may render. . Dr. Sunil was now working in a Public Hospital in spite of his fahter suggestion to help him start his own practice. An epidemic in the tribal area brings ailing Dayal and his adopted daughter to the hospital wher Phulwa meets Dr. Sunil and Dayal is taken care, with all love and Phulwa was kept as a guest at his own place. Epidemic and the misery of the tribal people rouses the strong determination of Dr. Sunil, who decides to leave the city life and the luxury, to go and settle down in the village live among the miserable and bring them relief. . Dr. Sunils father was in charge of the tribal area, to wipe out the dacoits and in spite of the warnings, Sunils determination wins. Dr. Sunil has now set up his practice in the tribal area in a hut, visitng all the villages near by and bringing succour to the sufferings and needy and in spite of great handicaps, works his way through. Similarly, Dr. Sunil came across great difficulties in enlightening the people who were accustomed to the exploits of the quacks. . Dr. Sunils father wanted him to get married to Dr. Miss Neeta, who had by the this time set up practice in the city. Neetas persuasion to Dr. Sunil return to the city also fails. Phulwa, the village belle helps Dr. Sunil in all his endeavours and the affection between them grows into love. Neeta has been Phulwa wearing the necklace which was stolen by the dacoits and on her complaint Dayal was arrested. Dayal was released on bail at the intervention of Dr. Sunil. . The Deputy Inspector General of Police, along with a party was doing his best in rounding up the dacoits and in an ambush, Lakshansing the leader of the dacoits was wounded and was shifted to the hospital for an urgent operation. Dr. Sunil was attending on the patient when the police arrives to arrest the dacoit. The villagers were also opposing the Doctor for doing service to the dacoit.
