Himesh Reshammiya tries to reinvent himself too. And there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, this new clean, casual avtar of his does seem to work better than the earlier showman-nish one, where the hairdo wasn't the only thing out of place. Himesh as Vivan, does seem to have found a better groove. It's just that this time round, it's the generation gap that creates a chasm. The story that tries to talk about the relationship rigmaroles of the Facebook GenXers

It does not work because of its subject. It talks about relationships, which are complicated, according to the tag line. But the film itself is so complicated. Your (Himesh) character Vivan is not sure whether he is in love with his radio jockey colleague (Shemaz Treasurywala) or his ex-wife (newcomer Sonal Sehgal). He's seen roaming around with both women despite a bitter split from the wife. And what is the logic behind breaking plates in the film? Was that funny or were you trying to make a fool of yourself?

The film Radio is aptly titled, for it has a superb sound track just perfect for the airwaves. As for the film itself, let's use their promo tag line, ‘it's complicated’ as well as very ‘confused’. Radio is the story of small town boy who becomes the famous RJ Vivaan (Himesh), who while solving people's problems on air, is unable to solve his own complicated life. RJ Vivaan has just been divorced by his choreographer wife Pooja (Sonal Sehgal)

Trying too hard to be cool, the Himesh Reshammiya-starrer Radio is a misguided film about modern relationships. Starring the singer-turned-actor as popular radio jockey Vivaan, who decides he's done with relationships after the failure of his marriage, this movie sets up an unlikely scenario where Himesh is pursued by not one but two reasonably beautiful, intelligent women. His ex-wife Pooja (played by Sonal Sehgal) is clearly still in love with him

When Himesh Reshammiya stars in a film, it's got to be a musical. Musical it is, but RADIO also attempts to explore the man-woman relationship in a metropolis. RADIO rests on a thin storyline. Superficially, it's about a couple that goes separate ways, then man meets another woman, later ex-wife develops a soft corner, much later man is torn between the two women. Haven't we witnessed similar themes in the past? Oh yes, aplenty!

Story: Ishaan Trivedi muddles up the most basic Bollywood geometry (triangular love story) to make it ‘complicated’. The narrative opening in individual chapters appears too wannabe. Dialogue: The dialogues seem to be written in absolute desperation with lines that go as ‘ agar samne wala pyaar nahi karey to baajuwale se pyaar karo, peechewale wale se pyaar karo, kisi se bhi pyaar karo.’

Radio: Love on Air, written and directed by Ishaan Trivedi, is the year's most wannabe film. It wants, above all else, to be cool, hip, current. So the characters have cool jobs - two are radio jockeys and one is a choreographer. The romance is played out in cool places like malls and cafes and Facebook. The songs talk about fultoo attitude. The film, perhaps inspired from Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds, is divided into chapters

He has, not one, but two emotionally attached women, fawning all over him at the same time. The three of them shop and dine together. One’s the wife, who’s just divorced him, but reminisces, “Vivaan, I miss your sense of humour.” Vivaan’s a jock; on radio, that is. Slouched from the shoulders, slight tummy, hair cropped, with a long sideburn, he whispers in a slightly croaky voice; walks with a certain swagger, and moves his arms across

My name is Himesh and I have a problem. I used to be a superhit music director and singer. Everyone used to go crazy every time I opened my, er, nose. Autorickshaw drivers especially loved my nose job. Why? It’s complicated! I appeared in a few music videos where the top Bollywood heroines would come and cry as I kept singing with a serious look. Why? It’s complicated! I decided to be a movie star.

A new relationship makes way for one that’s irretrievably broken-down. Or has it? Ishaan Trivedi’s new film is about young love and confusion and confirmation, flitting in and out of studios, and TV screens, and Facebook status updates. The only thing missing in this Love In The Time Of New Media is Twitter, except the film seems to have been fashioned as a series of tweets: First Meeting With Potential In-laws, This Morning, followed by Eating Pakodas
