Rikta 1939

Rikta is a 1939 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on 1939. The film is directed by Sushil Majumdar.

Barister Bikash Choudhury had no time for his wife Karuna. They had a four year old son Bimal. Ashok was a childhood fried of Karuna. Suddenly in Ashok, Karuna found her solace. So within a sort time, a scandal was circulated. One day, Sharama the sister of Bikash, informed Bikash aboout this scandal. Bikash's love for Karuna was so deep that he did not believe a single word of Sharama.Sharama then adviced Karuna no to go close to Ashok. Karuna thought that the allegation was not of Sharama, but it was Bikash's. So misunderstanding between Karuna and Ashok became more complex. One day Ashok expressed his love to Karuna. Karuna rebuked him. Ashok left the town. That very night Bikash wanted to know about her relationship with Ashok. Karuna was so embarrassed that she left Bikash's house and tool shelter in her brother's place. Bikash got ill. Sharama requested Karuna to come back. Bikash was apparently happy with Karuna's come back. But again disagreement between them started. So Karuna left home for good. Karuna joined a school as a teacher. There she took the name Roma. One day the school authority enquired about her relatives. But she refused to give the information. So the job was gone. Then Karuna became a 'Mataji; of a temple in Kashi.Bulaki Prasad was the owner of that temple. When Karuna came to know that Bulaki Prasad was a cheat and dishonest person, she revolted against him. But it was not possible for her to get rid of Bulaki Prasad. Karuna use to buy a news paper daily. From that news paper she came to know that her son Bimal had became a successful barrister and married the daughter of a retired ICS officer. Karuna kept the cuttings of the news of Bikash and her son. One day Bulaki Prasad got this cuttings and asked Karuna to arrange 10 thousand rupees from Barister Bikash Choudhury. One day Karuna was convicted for killing Bulaki Prasad. And her son Bimal was there to prove her guilt.
