The go-getter girls are truly at the crossroads, bogged down by different aspects of the mid-life crisis: motherhood, wifehood, menopause, the glass ceiling....Leading the brattish pack is Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) who doesn't know how to retain the `sparkle' in her two-year-old marriage to her avuncular husband who suddenly seems to have a craving for a third entity in their cosy domesticity.

Most women, including me, who found Carrie Bradshaw and her gang of spunky best girlfriends highly inspiring all this while, are bound to feel thoroughly disappointed after watching Sex and the City 2. The fact that this sequel was one of the most awaited films of this year with huge expectations riding on it makes it all the more worse. Take the class and cool cattiness off the franchise

The one thing that Carrie cant stop trying to rekindle in her relationship with Big is exactly what is also missing in Sex and the City 2 - The Sparkle. A tele-series that was more than a legend to young and old women across the world and was most watchable for many men, has officially been smothered by its movie sequel. Sex and the City 2 deprives you of all the magical camaraderie, wit, humour and relationship mess, we had so loved it for.

Not again. Two years after they strode the sidewalks of Manhattan, the fashionable quartet from the long-running HBO series is reunited for this big-screen sequel. Returning director King continues to pander to fans that grew up during the show’s tenure on television. As a result, Sex and the City 2 seems more like an overextended sitcom episode rather than a real film.

There are many ways to torture a straight man, but forcing him to watch Sex & The City 2 is possibly the most cruel. To be fair, even female fans of the popular TV series are likely to cringe at the embarrassing antics of its four leading ladies who, beneath all that greedy consumerism and love for expensive shoes, once represented 'real' urban American women.

The TV series ran out of steam soon enough but at least it had a decent run. The film that followed two years earlier was a disappointment for sure and just maybe bearable for some because of the high curiosity level it generated. This sequel doesn’t have that advantage. It’s long in the tooth and a crushing bore to boot. And it doesn’t even have beautiful clothes and interesting situations to lift it up from the mundane and the preposterous.
