A group of Cuban refuges, Juan Raúl Perez (Alfred Molina), a former aristocrat and newly released political prisoner, who wants to return to his wife after 20 years and Dottie Perez (Marisa Tomei), a former prostitute share their last name ‘Perez’ and thus pretend to be a family to secure sponsor.
