He is an Indian theatre artist. He is also an actor cum producer too. He is from Ludhiana. His work in the films include: Ek Doctor Ki Maut (1991), Mandi (1983), Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho! ,Khandhar, Khamosh, Yeh Woh Manzil To Nahin, Chameli Ki Shaadi ,Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, and Abba ji, (based on Shakespeare's King Duncan) in Vishal Bharadwaj's adaptation of Macbeth; Maqbool (2003) were appreciated. He became hit for his role in the serial ’Office office’. He was also famous for his roles in Karamchand. Kapur completed his education from Government College, Ludhiana. He did engineering course and then joined the National school of Drama, New Delhi. Then after this, he did theatre for four years. He was offered the role of Gandhi during his play. He did 74 plays and he has worked in many serials. He was also given the National Filmfare award for his work in the movies. His work in serials and plays include: Mohandas B.A.L.L.B., Wah Bhai Wah, Sahabji Biwi Ghulamji and Drishtanth, Kanak Di Balli, Albert's Bridge and Panchvan Savaar.
