Pashan Debata 1942

Pashan Debata is a 1942 Indian Bengali drama film released on 1942. The film is directed by Sukumar Dasgupta.

People in the neighbouring villages were solely dependent on Rakhal and Radha,the inhabilants of Protippore. In spite of that, Zamindars agent seized all the belongings of his house as he defaulted on land rent. Rakhal went to the Zamindar to seek redress for his unfair treatment but to no avail. Zamindar Girija Shankar was determined to take up the entire estate of Darmadha Pargana at auction and he hadn't enough money. He could not collcet adequate money even by offering his tenants. So he called on Ramdayal Saha,a Jute marchent and the new Zamindar Kalinath Chowdhury on the advice of Haranatht.Meanwhile, epidemic broke out in the village. Rakhal and Radha went to people's service. Doctor and medicines were needed. Zamindar's son Satu was ill and the village doctor was kept confined there. Rakhal went to the Zamindar to release the doctor but Zamindar was indifferent.Kalinath bought Darmadha at auction. Haranath was sympathitic with Girija Shankar and hatched a cospiracy against Kalinath in collusion with former owner of the estate Sital Pal. Kalinath ordered his manager Pashupati to remove his opponent. On hearing the news Rakhal ran fast but it was too late. Sital's body was found in a pool of blood near the pond. Haranath did not miss this oppertunity. He ran towards the police station as far as he could and that very day at midnight when Radha was in a pain of childbirth police came and arrested Rakhal on a charge of Sital's murder.Rakhal was sentenced to life imprisonment on court's verdict. Radha became shelterless with her girl child. Rakhal came backafter 14 years. He had no knowledge of Radha . While he was in his quest for Radha he heard a cry of excitement.Rakhal saved Girija Shankar's son from an accident. Satu wanted to take him back home but Rakhal refused to go. Finally Rakhal found Radha and came back to his village with Radha. God is now sympathitic towords them.
